students where they are.
Creative, mental-health–informed, and delivered right in York City schools after school — so every student can access the support they need.
Current Programming
SEL-Based Enrichment Workshops
The H.E.Y. Project currently delivers social-emotional learning workshops designed specifically for York County youth. Our workshops go beyond information — they give students a safe space to practice, feel, and grow.

How It Works
Inside a H.E.Y. workshop
Every session follows a structured flow designed to feel safe, engaging, and meaningful.
Emotional Check-In
Students start by naming how they feel right now — building the vocabulary to understand themselves.
Skill-Building Mini-Lesson
A focused lesson on one coping tool, self-awareness practice, or communication skill.
Creative Activity
Art, writing, movement, or group exercises that bring the skill to life in a hands-on way.
Group Discussion
Students practice healthy expression in a supported group — listening, sharing, and building trust.
Close-Out Reflection
A moment to name what they learned and what they’ll try before the next session.
What Success Looks Like
Students leave with real tools, not just information.
We measure success through follow-up check-ins the next time we see a student — tracking what they remember, what they’ve tried, and how they’re feeling. Our goal is always the same: participants feel equipped to navigate life with steadiness, hope, and belonging.
- More able to name what they feel
- More confident expressing emotions safely
- Equipped with real coping strategies

Where we are — and where we’re going
SEL-Based Enrichment Workshops (After-School)

Community Outreach Workshops
Short-format workshops delivered with partners in schools and community spaces — bringing support to more people, in more places.
Resource Connection & Warm Handoffs
When needs go beyond a workshop, we help participants and families connect to trusted local supports. No one leaves without a next step.
Youth & Young Adult Support Circles
Skills-focused group spaces strengthening coping tools, communication, and belonging — from pilot to scale.
Family & Caregiver Workshops
Practical tools to support emotional wellness at home — because healing happens in families, too.
Training for Youth-Serving Organizations
SEL-informed learning for adults who support youth. Non-clinical, practical, and accessible.
H.E.Y. is mental-health–informed and non-clinical.
We do not diagnose or provide therapy. We provide prevention-oriented skill-building, supportive programming, and connections to community resources.
Bring H.E.Y. to your school or community
We’re always open to conversations about new partnerships and how H.E.Y. can support your community.
